One of the most fascinating parts of Homeschool is the ability to create life skill curriculum's for fun. Cooking is always a favorite and I wanted to share one that works for Elementary age through early Middle school age.
Paula Deen's "My First Cookbook" is copyright 2008 and you can pick them up for about $4 each now. I purchased one for me and one for each of our kids. It is spiral bound and hard cover so very sturdy.
It starts by covering safety and proceeds to an amazing glossary. Other subjects are How to Measure, How to set a table and Good Manners.
The recipes are fun and colorful to keep the kiddos interested. There are many recipes from Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, Birthday, Cooking for Mom and Dad, Holidays and Special Drinks as well as Arts and Crafts.
Very little is needed to prepare a lesson plan from this book, it just makes it so easy.
